A Journey to the Heart of the Pyrenees. The magnificent Caves of Betharram are located between the cities of Pau and Lourdes (15km from Lourdes). An underground world awaits you. You may discover galleries sculpted by water over the centuries. Marvellous concretions with amazing shapes, enhanced by the particularly careful lighting. Impressive geological formations: stalagmites, stalactites, draperies, columns… The rooms follow one another: The Hall of Fairies, The Room of the Chandeliers, The Magical Room, etc. The richness of these forms stimulates the imagination all along the visit. Try to find among these natural surprises the imitation of the Big Bell, the elephant or the Virgin… Then you will go down the Chasm. You may stop in the Roman Cloister Hall to find the underground river. Then, the tour continues with a boat trip on the underground lake. Your journey ends with a trip on our small train for 800 meters. A final that will delight the little ones! Unusual and wonderful! It is a unique underground attraction in Europe. At the exit, a building built in 1924, where souvenirs, minerals, fossils and postcards are proposed to the appreciation of the visitor.
